It’s another weeeeeeird Wednesday! But this looks like a pretty normal puzzle? This is too little to be a circle, right? (Thanks to Javier for playtesting!)
Like a fish
This is the internet, puzzles don’t have to be square!
Born Free (Mikeystyle #4)
As free as the wind blows, as free as my nose grows…. Thanks to everyone who got excited on Twitter about Wednesday’s puzzle! That was really nice to hear. This puzzle is a lot less ambitious, just a little Mikeystyle (i.e., geared towards my husband Mikey, and so a little easier), and another circle? At this pixel size, it maybe looks more like an octagon. Circles are unstable at certain sizes.
Soft boys, intertwined
This one’s a little different! (And there’s a little box below the puzzle that you can use as scratch paper, if you want.)
The rules: Across clues are normal. Down clues need to be split into two clues (possibly ignoring punctuation). The answer to one of these clues goes in the circled squares, and the other goes in the uncircled squares.
(For example: “School group gossip” might give you FISH (“school group”) and DISH (“gossip”). You’d still have to figure out which of those answers goes in the circled squares.)
Like a circle in a circle
So I’m still thinking about circular grids, following up on last week’s littler circle. Also, I had Mikey test this one, and he did a great job on it, despite me thinking this would be too hard for him. Maybe we’re both getting better at this?
