In the latest episode of It’s Just A Show: Adam and Beth are taking a quick break, so here's some bonus material trimmed from previous episodes: Adam West, bad movies, Canada (again), the weirdest thing to ever air on PBS, and (occasionally) MST3K. Enjoy, and/or wait until we're back in two weeks with a regular episode!
I envy your joy of movement
In the latest episode of It's Just A Show, It Conquered the World learned almost too late that Adam and Beth are feeling creatures, and because of it, they discuss more kick-ass 50s ladies, team sports, cults, Roger Corman, and learning almost too late that man is a feeling creature.
It's good when people age
In the latest episode of It’s Just A Show, Girls Town lifts and separates Beth and Adam as they discuss Mamie Van Doren, Paul Anka, Mel Tormé, Mamie Van Doren (again), and Canada.
(This is a really good episode of MST3K!)
Coke will do all the work for you
In the latest episode of It's Just A Show, Cry Wilderness howls at Beth and Adam to discuss ice cream college, Mac and Me, Bigfoot, raccoons, and the puberty giggles.
Oh, hey, did you know that there's a new season of MST3K? After about 17 years off the air, the most successful Kickstarter to-date launched fourteen new episodes of the show. We take one our for a spin. It's pretty great! (Phew.)
Totally Uncontroversial Opinions about MST3K’s Sci-Fi Era.
A bonus episode of It's Just A Show! Adam and Beth, fresh from rewatching Future War, have thoughts on MST3K's years on the Sci-Fi Channel. Listener discretion advised.
Beth and Adam had so much to say about the Sci-Fi years that we made it into a separate episode. I don't disagree with their assessment at all.
Yelling at dinosaurs
In the latest episode of It's Just A Show, Future War kicks off Beth and Adam’s discussion of revivals, rad 90s dinosaurs, dad movies, secret Christians, and other strange animals.
I agree with every complaint Beth and Adam lodge against this episode (especially the weak host segments and the awful body-shaming jokes), but if you ignore those bits, I kinda liked this episode. I liked the rest of the riffing. Still, their take is interesting.
Love letter to suburbia
In the latest episode of It's Just A Show, Teenagers from Outer Space compels Beth and Adam to discuss boss rockets, boy movies, sex shooters, sex robots, and small-town paranoia.
This is a great episode, and a pretty good one to start with if you've never watched the show before. And it's currently available on Netflix, so you have no excuse.
Collage of male adolescence
In the latest episode of It’s Just A Show, Danger!! Death Ray coaxes Beth and Adam into discussing satellite dishes, glamour shots, beefy spies, André the Giant, and Herbie Hancock.
Only episode two and we had our first major audio snafu. Adam's apology almost makes it worth it, and his personal stories midway through are worth it.
